live maria : circuit songs
Norwegian jazz singer Live Maria Roggen is a versatile musician/composer with various interests and projects.
She has been performing and recording music since 1995. Her first and only solo album Circuit Songs from 2007 won the Norwegian Grammy Spellemannprisen in the "open cathegory". Live Maria has no immediate plans to continue her beloved solo project, but occasionally sits down wearing an astral helmet to open up for the possibility. She is then most likely to be interrupted by someone in need of her attention. Any continuous creative work these days depends on collaboration or commission. So the circuit hasn't had the chance to close yet. Thankfully.
2010 : 2011
Live Maria is co-leader, singer, composer and arranger in the vocal collective Trondheim Voices.
In 2010 Trondheim Voices released their CD Improvoicing. in 2011 they have commissioned Jon Balke to compose music which will be performed with the rhythm collective Batagraf at Trondheim Jazz Festival.
Live Maria + Helge Lien = LiveLien
LiveLien started working in 2010. The duo will release their first CD and tour Norway in oct/nov 2011.
Last decade's Norwegian jazz favorite Come Shine
will make a rare appearance in 2011: Oslo Jazz Festival opening concert at the Opera House, together with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra.
